An extremely rare and highly desirable piece of Yankee memorabilia, offered here is a Rawlings Dual Palm Big Trap-Eze professional model baseball glove, personally owned and used by the none other than the great Mickey Mantle. The glove exhibits nice usage throughout with heavy wearing on the palm and fingers and heavy uniform soiling. Accompanied by impressive provenance, this glove was personally gifted by Mantle to famed talk show host Joe Franklin and his "Memory Lane" collection of memorabilia. Franklin states in the letter of provenance, "This incredibly rare piece of Baseball and Sports Entertainment history--Hall of Fame slugger Mickey Mantle's personally worn baseball glove...has been a part of my Memory Lane collection of Memorabilia & Nostalgia since Mickey 'retired' it to my possession and care during the Old Timer's Day festivities at Yankee Stadium in 1978. Mickey was a close friend, and was gracious enough to not only make several appearance on the Joe Franklin Show, but he also encourage other players of his generation like Billy Martin and Whitey Ford to come on my show." Well preserved and in excellent condition. Accompanied by a Letter of Authenticity direct from Joe Franklin and a photo of Franklin holding the glove. Also included in the lot is a photo of Mantle from the late 1960s in which he can be seen sporting this same model of glove. Yankee collectors take notice!!
