In conjunction with the NBA's 50th Anniversary in 1996, the NBA named its 50 greatest players. Remarkably, 49 of the 50 players selected were alive and present when they were honored as part of the 1996-1997 All-Star festivities. A magnificent creation was unveiled during that event in the form of a series of limited edition lithographs, which was hand signed by all 49 living legends. The NBA 50 Greatest Players lithograph received a remarkable response upon its release to the public, with the entire edition selling out immediately at a price of $25,000 per lithograph. Since the initial release, only a select few NBA 50 Greatest Players lithographs have appeared in the market, and when they do, prices often reach the high 5-figures, and in some cases have eclipsed the $100,000 mark.
